An authentic Lebanese pastry shop valiantly staying close to its roots despite unrelenting economic blackmail of a population with an aversion to adventure. They have recently expanded their menu to include a whole 'pizzeria-style' gamut of pizza and pasta dishes, which I haven't sampled yet...but they might even be good. Come here for the sweets, pistachios in their true glory, a smoky earthy core packed into a coil of crunchy fiberoptics, all the masterful pastries are prepared daily by the owner Khalife. Or, for savoury, the schawarma is unique in Berlin for its tangy marinade, and a vegetarian plate recently so impressed my friend Forst, he went back the next day for the same thing.
