Perhaps this shop illustrates the culinary meaning of the British kitchen. The shelves are crammed full of well-known British food and drink brand names to cater for Berlin's British contingent and Britfoodphiles. Brits make regular journeys to re-fill their pantries with those special tastes and flavourings from home. HP brown spicy sauce for their English breakfasts, Colman's mustard to spread on ham or beef sandwiches and pickled onions to supplement a Ploughmans Lunch. All the usual canned foods are on show; Heinz Baked Beans and Spaghetti, mushy peas, various pies and a variety of soups. Look in the fridge for your bacon and cheese and the freezers for frozen Irish sausages, pies, and sausage rolls. A good assortment of teas, breakfast cereals, biscuits, crisps, and chocolate make-up for the non-sale of English beer. The friendly assistants are native English speakers who like to chat to their customers. The shop also has a small selection of special occasion cards, cleaning agents and second hand English books.
